From either of these Shinkansen bullet train stops you can continue your journey, following the golden route, to either westward towards Kyoto or Eastward to Tokyo. Either way this will be an excellent and memorable week full of culinary delights, culture and unforgettable golf!
Getting there: We recommend the stress free train options to our international guests in traveling smoothly and safely to either Atami and Ito stations, or Mishima. From Tokyo or Shinagawa the Shinkansen bullet train “Kodama” takes just 43 minutes to Atami or 50 minutes to Mishima. Should you be confident driving, you can rent a car at any of these stations to drive freely throughout the Izu countryside. If starting by car from Tokyo you can get to the Izu peninsula in less than 2 hours by from Tokyo’s eastern Shinjuku area. Check your GPS for all the various driving options. The hassle free way is to jump on a Shinkansen bullet train from Tokyo station or Shinagawa station, which connects directly with Atami or Mishima in well less than an hour! These are the two best logical entrances to the Izu Peninsula. The bullet trains to either of these stations are fully covered by the Japan Rail Pass.
